Title: The Shawshank Redemption
Year: 1994
Genre: Drama
Director: Frank Darabont

The Shawshank Redemption is a 1994 American drama film adapted from the novel Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption written by renowned author Stephen King. The movie tells about the story of Andy Dufresne and how he managed to live and escape Shawshank prison.

Andy Dufresne is a banker who is convicted of two life sentences for murdering both his wife and her lover. Andy makes new enemies and friends during his time on Shawshank prison. He works as tax accountant for all the guards on Shawshank and therefore he was given protection by the guards and was even allowed to make his own library. Ellis Boyd "Red" Redding on the other hand was also convicted of murder. Red was known as the person who provides the inmates with whatever they need at a certain price of course. The two become friends and live their life on Shawshank certain that they will never see the outside world again. The Shawshank Redemption tells about the story of how Andy Dufresne managed to outwit the warden and the guards and ultimately escape the impassable fortress that is Shawshank and finally regain his freedom.

The Shawshank Redemption is set on Shawshank prison in the year of 1947-1967. The movie tells about the life of prison inmate, Andy Dufresne, and his experiences during his time on Shawshank prison.

The film stars two of Hollywood's greatest actors. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman really did an excellent job in portraying Andy and Red respectively. Tim Robbins's character, Andy, really developed well throughout the movie while Morgan Freeman's character, Red, provided an amazing supporting role.

Drama movies has always been on my movie watch list and The Shawshank Redemption proved that it should stay there indefinitely. The development of both the movie and its characters were just right and perfect. I haven't seen any loophole on the movie and I know that The Shawshank Redemption will stay on my all time list.

The Shawshank Redemption was directed on the 1990s and we all know that some of the greatest American films ever released were from the 90s. I'm glad to tell you that The Shawshank Redemption is certainly one of those "greatest". It has friendship, redemption, and drama covered in every aspect so I totally recommend this film if you want another awesome movie experience.

10/10
