Tuesday, March 27, 2012

Title: Temple Run
Year: 2011
Genre: Action/Arcade
Platform: iOS, Android
Developer: Imangi Studios

The game first tell you the statement "Take the idol if you dare". The game will officially start when you decide to take the idol. Your character will start running and evil monkeys will attempt to catch you. There are many obstacles along the way such as trees, flames, and pits. Your character will also gain momentum from running and will begin to run faster. You'll need to direct your character through the maze and prevent him from dying. The game will officially end when your character dies and your current score will show on the ending screen.

There are a total of 7 playable characters in which 6 are still locked at the beginning and 5 powerups to upgrade. You'll need the coins that you collect from the run to unlock the 6 remaining characters and to upgrade the powerups. The game also gives you optional objectives. Accomplishing these objectives will increase your score multiplier thus increasing your overall score at the end of each run. You can also buy angel wings from the shop. Angel wings resurrects your character when it dies. Angel wings will only last for 30 seconds. If you didn't die within those 30 seconds then the wings will disappear leaving you vulnerable to death.

You control your character by tilting the screen left and right. You need to jump (slide finger forward), duck(slide your finger backward), go left (slide your finger to the left), right(slide your finger to the right), and by using angel wings (double tap).

I really wasn't addicted to Temple Run until just recently. I saw my friends playing this game so I decided to try it and eventually ended up addicted to this game. Temple run is very simple. It is easy to learn and I even see some 3 year old kids playing this game. It also doesn't take much of your time so you can play this when you want to take a break from work or from studying.

You need to have great timing and reflexes if you want to become the best temple runner. I also recommend this game for people who just wants to relieve their stress. Temple Run is truly a very amazing game.

9/10
